Hi Richard,

In the files section for the group there is an Excel spreadsheet with
rigging tensions (if you can't read it I'll post it as a PDF for you).

I think you should also read the factory manual on setting the rigging
tension. When I co-owned a race boat the other owner crushed the mast down
there the deck trying to maintain rigging tensions he got off the internet
week after week. My first indication there was a problem came when he
announced we needed all new standing rigging because he was out of
adjustment. So please read the factory manual and judge for yourself whether
you should follow the designer's recommendation or another data source.
Catalina's that are seriously raced have many under deck reinforcements
installed to withstand the rigors of racing and indeed can run higher
rigging pressures than normal. If your boat is stock, I would start with
stock.

Subject: [IC27A] Specs for tensioning of shrouds for C27

I own a 1990 C27 - purchased it late last year. I had the mast dropped at
haulout in the fall. In preparation for the Spring launch, I need to get a
hold of information to assist me in determining the tensions which need to
be applied to the forestay, backstay, and shrouds.

Can anyone assist in pointing me to any sources for this information?
My boat is a 1990 C27, standard rig.

Thanks in advance.
