No.  I just took off the fitting that was on the end of the tubing in the bilge 
and plugged the tubing into the automatic bilge pump.  When I use the manual 
pump it pulls the water through the the auto pump.  When the auto pump 
activates it pumps through the manual pump.  The Auto pump that I bought has a 
built in check valve so it take care of that problem also.  I am holding the 
Rule in place with a piece of plexiglass that I cut to the size of the bilge 
between the keel bolts.  I cut an opening in the plexiglass that holds the Rule 
pump in place and drilled holes in it to fit over the keel bolts.
