Most auto parts stores also carry dielectric grease.

The masthead wires are available at the steaming light. The C27 site 
had wiring diagrams up. I think they all share a common ground or 
something odd like that. The teak column in the cabin under the mast 
has a hollow in the middle, wires come up through that. I believe they 
run under the sole to that point and aren't accessible there. At the 
deck-mast point there is a plug connection for the wires, I think that 
was factory standard.

I agree with Bob it's probably a problem at one of the fixtures 
(steaming or masthead).
