I agree w/ David. When ever one of mine developed a bubble, I either
replaced or had it repaired. I don't trust my self to repair the most
important piece of nav equipment on the boat. There is a company in Houston,
TX that rebuilds them. Later in the day I'll look 'em up and post the name.

Personally speaking I've never seen a boat (at my dock) with a bubble, let
alone an owner who was happy with that, so if I were you I'd pursue a
factory repair or a store replacement. Perhaps someone on the list can
correct me if I'm wrong.
