Peter, my 1988 Catalina 27 #6466 extends your estimate of production years. I
believe the last 27 was hull # 6600, but I am not certain of that.

I'm wondering if anyone can confirm that a total of 6,600 Catalina 27s were
built over the life of the original model. My information shows that the
first year of production was 1971, but I'm not sure when the last were made
(probably about 1982). Also, does anyone have any idea of how many were
built in California and how many were built in British Columbia? If my
information is correct, Cooper built Catalina 27s in B.C. from 1973 to 1981,
then destroyed his molds.

I'm asking this as background for a magazine article (Pacific Yachting) I'm
writing on Catalina 27 modifications owners have made, as seen at our first
ever B.C. C27 rendezvous held last summer.
