I also have a Rule 2000 pump and know what you are talking about. I put in an anti-backflow valve about 4" downstream from the pump. It eliminates the water coming back in the bilge. Some say a 2000 gal pump is overkill but it is there when we need it! Dick Schmidt Greenville, NC

My 1986 has a Rule 2000 with a float switch. It seems to do the job, but I have the usual inch or so of backflow when when the pump shuts off. Does anyone have a better solution? Thanks
