Don't know how much tweaking you'd need to do to get a 4-stroke on an outboard model C27, but we have an older Yamaha 9.9 4-stroke that really does a decent job for us. It's relatively quiet, uses about 1/2 gallon per hour. We sail in the upper Chesapeake. Best of luck to you in your engine search.
