I agree.  My original C27 came with a 6hp Evinrude.  My first trip to Catalina 
convinced us we needed the 9.9.  Any wind or danger of blowing ashore and a 2 
hp would be useless.  But I have a Nissan now, and I think (hope) he meant 8hp.

i had great luck with a nissan NS8B two stroke 2 hp unit. it ran like a top and 
was very reliable. i have since sold it but i would not hesitate to by a nissan
