Hi. I am the new owner of an 1980 Cat. 27 TR. I am replacing the old and worn out halyards (unknown origin) with wire/rope halyards from Defender. The wire dim. is 1/8 and the rope is 3/8. it has 40 ft. of rope and 40 ft of wire. Is there any trick to installing them, I intend to lead the the wire attached to the existing halyard line up and through the sheave. Originally I ordered all low stretch line 5/16 dim. but it would not pass through the sheave.
