Scott, I just did this, less than a week ago (actually replaced all halyards!). I got the same halyard from defender. The way I did it was first sent a messenger line to replace the old halyard, I used a 1/8'' braided line (got 100 feet for less than 20$), I used a paper clip to connect both ends (rope to rope), also stitch it together, wrap it with one layer of duck tape and lube it with Vaseline. Once the messenger went through, did the same with the new halyard (again rope to rope). I had no problems, took me probably 10min. Hope this helps. -Abraham
