I've done the trip from Tom's River NJ to Block Island twice. I remember
stopping in Port Jefferson on the way back, its a safe and easy place to
maneuver. Just check your tide chart and depth where you anchor because we
woke up in 3 ft of water once.

The Great Salt Pond is very relaxing place to anchor. We hiked, biked, watched
movies, bought groceries, ate ice cream and explored the island. We had a lot
of fun on those trips and I hope you do too.

Subject: [IC27A] Going to Block Island 6/10 to 6/15

I'm looking for suggestions on what to bring (cruising guides, etc) and where
to stay for a fairly short trip from Sea Cliff, NY to Block Island. We're
tentatively scheduled to leave on June 10th and return on the 15th.

I've wanted to make this trip for a few years now but never got around to it
because my last boat and I didn't get along and my wife really wasn't into it,
so I've decided to go with a couple of friends instead.

The more info I get, the better. I'll have my laptop tethered to my Blackberry
for an internet connection so good websites would be very helpful too.

Thanks in advance.

Michael
