I have a Honda 9.9. It is on a custom bracket that moves the engine mount about
18“ further back. It was done by the PO. It works well, the lower unit drags
when underway, not when tied up. The tilt lock is controlled with 2 lines (a
bit of a pain), the engine is raised and lowered with a block. The mount is
strong. The engine has remote controls (no tiller), so steering with the engine
is not an option. Under power in reverse steering is not possible; I gun in
reverse and shift into neutral and then steer. In forward steering is better
but not great, small circles are not possible. Since I don't need to steer much
under power it is fine. The 9.9 is more than enough power, but is good in storm
winds.

It will fit ....but it will not tilt. You may want to consider an auxillary
motor bracket and leave your winter storage cover in the transom. You gain
storage and do not have to modify the transom (except for drilling couple of
holes) I have used this method in the past with the Honda 10 with great
success....... Enjoy!
