There is a tool called a nutcracker, not sure if that is slang. Anyway, it is used to break rusted nuts in half so you can get them off. Not sure if it will work in confined spaces like the bilge of a C27.

I couldn't get the old rusted nuts off easily and they seemed to still be very solidly fixed. I installed reinforcement over the original nuts. I did this a couple of months ago.
