Bon voyage!
I have spent the past months making changes to Sovereignty. Added a new
motor and mount last year. Converted the ice chest to a holding plate
freezer (added Aero Gel insulation), upgraded the anchor from a Delta 14 to a
Delta 22, replaced 135' of 1/4" anchor chain (70' were in good shape),
refreshed the bottom paint, applied ten coats of Honey Teak varnish to an
amazing
amount of Teak, expanded the hanging locker (put a clothes bar in the
head-lol), shipped the mast to Buffalo (today), and basically cleaned the
daylights out of Sovereignty.
Tomorrow she gets wet, moves to her winter slip (still not leased for the
summer, lucky for me), load the boat with crew's clothes, folding bike,
dinghy, etc,
Throw a bon voyage party on Saturday, and Tuesday head off on a one
hundred-seven day cruise from Mamaroneck, New York to Dreamers Rock on Dreamers
Peninsula near Little Current, Ontario. We plan returning on or about
October 22nd.
I will chime in from time to time, en route, where Wi-Fi is available. If
interested, you can enjoy the cruise by capturing it snip-it by snip-it at
Sovereingyt's web site (ahsovereingty.com).
Hope you all have a wonderfilled summer, I remain,
David Hoyt
