Brian,
I have a 1973 (#785) Cat... and I love it. I just purchased a Nissian 15hp 
outboard and I'm happy with my purchase.
I moved my back stay to the transom on the outside above the rubwhale.This 
gives me more room in the aft cockpit.
I paid $3000 2 years ago and I've probably spent 2 times that since......
