I was under the impression that an adjustable whisker pole wouldn't be suitable
for spinnaker service, as it won't stand up to the loads. Am I wrong? Perhaps
I should just rig up a lifting bridle to my whisker pole and see how it works
out with the spinnaker?

By the way, the Forespar website has a table of suggested lengths for different
boat modes, and suggests the correct spinnaker pole length is 11'1" for a C27
standard rig, based on its "J" dimension.
