The adjustable whisker pole I was working on was from a much bigger, faster boat (an Albin Express 34). This pole would be more that strong enough for a Cat 27 spinnaker. I was just making a point.

By the way, the Forespar website has a table of suggested lengths for different boat modes, and suggests the correct spinnaker pole length is 11'1" for a C27 standard rig, based on its "J" dimension.
