An Adjustable line on a block attached to a shackle at the bow.
The line is inside the pulpit and stands about 6 inches above the rail when at 
it's longest point.

attach the line for the tack?

Not always,
When SINGLE HANDING... in light winds, I find it easier to control and handle, 
to bring the Asym sail inside the forestay.
