I think he was talking about the small allen screw that most blocks
have up near the base to prevent them from swiveling if necessary. If
your sheet is twisting, you can force it to run straight by locking

Coupled with the friction many have observed I concluded there was too much leverage. This is a mid-boom traveler model. I took one leg of the compounding out by removing a small block in the boom-to-traveler arrangement, used the set screws on the boom block, and have been much happier ever since. But I endorse use of the traveler instead of the mainsheet when easing or tight pointing is needed. Keeps your sail shape better ...
