I've got the same problem, but I am leaning towards electric. Check out the
YouTube videos.

      Hi All!

I have a 1986 C27 with a Universal 18 that is no longer alive. A rebuild is not
possible as the inside was completely pitted by water and likely to have issues
down the road even with a rebuild. So I am looking for a new used engine. It's
not my forever boat so I don't want to spend an arm and a leg. I am curious as
to what other engine options there are. What will fit the space? I looked at a
3-cyl Yanmar yesterday but I think it's about 1.5 inches too big. Any ideas?
BTW, I'm in Florida if anyone knows of anything and will drive to surrounding
states.

Thanks---Amy
