Ouch ! Rob,

Sorry about the busted key. That's a bummer.
Along that line, do you have a plastic shield over the Gauge Panel ?
I have a clear plastic sheet that covers the top 2/3rds of the panel. It pretty
much protects the panel and key.
One would have to make a concerted effort to Stomp on the key with the plastic
sheet guarding .....LOL

If you'd rather keep the On/Off switch, May I suggest that you install a
warning light there. It would be simple to do.
It might help remind you whrn the Glow "Worm" is on..

Of course I could get Silly and install a 12 volt timer relay to do it all
automatically... There are such devices and kits.
OR...
How about .. "Clap On, Clap Off" switches
Now that's an idea I'll have to think about....
Yee Hawwwwww !

Best,
Ralph

Ralph,

it is for the "doing other things" reason that i installed the fixed position
toggle in the first place. the problem is that i keep doing the other things
and forget to turn off the switch. LOL today someone, maybe me, landed a sperry
topsider on my ignition key busting it off inside the ignition switch. now i'm
off to my local chandlery to acquire another switch. aaarrrggghhh!
