I think on TV when Gudmar said if you wanted a jumping type horse you
wouldn't want an icelandic he was definitely not thinking clearly at
all. For one thing, you see all these pony club kids jumping ponies
all the time. fat shetland types. I think he had a mental picture of
warmbloods competing at MacClay or wherever it is or something!

Because yesterday I was working Tivar in the yard and decided to ride
him down the road. It had been a HUGE storm and a lot of rain had
came in a very short time. The ditch had swollen as big and fast
flowing as a creek in spots and knowing the ditch is only about two
feet deep I decided to see if Tivar would cross it. It was about six
feet wide. He hesitated a little them sploosh splooshed across, and
on the other side we rode down the bank a long way, then as it got
more steep I decided to have him cross back over.

When I gave him a nudge he without warning executed a gorgeous
standing jump and cleared the six feet easily and I feel at the
pinnacle of the jump he was at least three feet in the air. It was
awesome! And now I am off on this fantasy about showing him jumping
at the 4H show :) and the crowd goes wilddddd.

But gosh, they jump really well! I wish I had a picture!
