Melnir's color is awfully stark in the spring, when he first sheds out. He's outside 24x7, and he does get muddy, and he does fade eventually, but it wouldn't take much to keep the color stark. In fact, here in the south, some people keep their horses up during the heat of the day to give them some fly relief, and turn them out at night. It has nothing to do with protecting their color, but that is a side benefit. Maybe this horse is kept up all the time, but I don't think we can be sure of that from looking at one picture. BTW, what's wrong with his feet - someone mentioned that as a problem. I'm not sure I can see anything wrong with them. Looks like there's a little sand in that arena, so I can't tell how long they are - they don't look too long. Is that a reflection on the front foot that's planted, or some sand stuck to it? I thought for a minute that someone thought that might be a crack, but it doesn't look like it to me. I can't see them clearly enough to see a problem with them. What am I missing?
