A Paint can have QH blood, and generally does, but a horse with excess white cannot be registered as a QH! I think they relaxed the white limits a few years ago, but I still think they are not supposed to have white above the hocks, or some such. I've known two QH's whose registration was challenged - the mare had white on her lower lip, and the stallion had white just up to his hock, and a white mark (due to a scar) on his belly.
