Most of that particular confusion was an unfortunate misprint of course, but Trish, I hope you will at least audit (if not ride in) the Liz Graves clinic in October. I had always struggled with balancing the feel of gaits from the saddle, with the footfall diagrams, with various still pictures I'd seen. When I went to the first Liz clinic, it was quite a relief to hear someone accustomed to recognizing the gaits name them while I watched the horses move in person. By the time I was lucky enough to arrange to attend one of her clinics, I had figured out more than I was giving myself credit for, but I wish I could have had that kind of help earlier on in my struggles. I got just as much out of watching the other horses move as I did by riding my own - but the best was probably riding for a while with her comments, then watching others immediately before and after.
