Cary's company headquarters are in Portland, and we've traveled there several times, and even braced ourselves to move there once about 18 years ago. I was surprised that the snowfall is not much different than here, even being further north - it happens all along, but usually not deep and usually doesn't last long. Charlotte and Portland are a lot alike in many ways, although I'm afraid Charlotte is probably growing faster, and has worse traffic problems. Sigh...I can barely make myself go into Charlotte any more. Too bad it's sprawling out to us now. We are about 25-30 miles from center city. Not long ago that was WAY out in the boonies.
