south florida paso farms run mainly by hispanics are the most cruel horrible training places on the planet. I hate to generalize, but if you took a poll you would find at least 80% are owned by cubans and south americans and they are just so into that macho brio stuff and its just horrible. I see the rehabs all the time. That being said, I also know some wonderful reputable paso farms in florida and alabama as well. Also, I know a person who shows and I went to her house and she had just gone to the nationals in perry georgia and purchased for 60,000 dollars a horse that had placed there. When she took me to look at him in the stall I kept shaking my head and telling her, no way, no way is that horse rideable. and she laughed and took him out and my gosh, in the stall he had been rearing and striking the air and throwing hisself around all wild eyed and when she took him out he was like a hyped up wreck and she tacked him up and got on him and he still seemed a hyped up wreck, but absolutely perfectly in control, doing the little fino thing that is something you really cant ride all day on the trail. He was sure magnificent and beautiful. And I think i saw what they mean by brio, but sheesh, you just wonder why they do that to those poor horses! They arent that way naturally (well a little maybe) and to make them act like that they smack them around and chase them in a pen etc. Janice -- yipie tie yie yo
