Susan, Jewel is exactly like this, hates having horses on his tail, so
I keep horses off his tail, I am very adamant about it...

bulking to go out on the trail, well, just play lots of games, back at
home, then ask again to go out, if she does not, play a lot more games
either in the saddle or on the ground... ask again, build your
relationship...

I now have a horse who LOVES to go out alone trailriding, he just
loves to be with me, in the woods...
