boy its easy to criticise, aint it. i have people asking me why I
overfeed tivar cause he is so fat when he really isnt that fat under
all the fur, what do you say to people who have never even seen an
icelandic horse and they try and tell you its fat. As for your
situation, i belieive i would have to say "well how do you fix
something??! You have to work on issues when and where they arise. "
i would ask your friend to go on more rides with you and whisper and
to have her ride behind you and watch whisper closely and when she
even twitches one ear back wiggle the reins and scold. tivar flattens
his ears at every horse that trys to pass us. he HATES being passed,
wants to always be first on the trail. When we are first I watch his
ears and when he looks back and moves his ears i say annttt real low
and give the reins a jiggle as a reminder. Then when they pass and he
flattens ears I smack his neck and scold. doesnt hurt him at all, but
shows my disapproval and at heart, ol grump that he is, he really does
want to please, seems to shine when i dismount at the end of a ride
and tell him how good he's been... face it, you cant work on
something if it doesnt present itself! and when you start avoiding
problems they just get bigger and are never ever resolved. how old is
whisper?? I have the same problem with stonewall and he is 6.
