The Arabian Horse Association doesn't share your feelings. They don't register hybrids (mules) but Half Arabian horses have a full set of classes at Arabian shows and are eligible for the same lifetime titles and prizes at shows and events as the pure breds. I've got a yearling half arabian/half Peruvian colt ( http://www.silcom.com/~lkinsky/Arabe/), being registered with the AHA, that I am hopeful will be a 4 or 5 gaited endurance horse for me.
