>>>> There's a drop dead gorgeous palamino filly that was onboard when her
malnourished Arab mother arrived where I board. Bev watched the mare and
thought, that despite being so thin, t she look pregnant. They carefully
applied all the nutrition she could handle and delivered a perfect half Arab
pony - no clue who the sire might have been.

When I question the Arab X Icelandic breeding, I hope that people understand
that I see two distinct situations to be addressed. The first would be: why
breed the Yorkie to the Boxer (or the Arab to the Icelandic) and the second
would be: if you happen to meet a Yorkie X Boxer (or an Arab x Icelandic)
then, please, give that puppy (foal) the consideration that all living
things deserve, and if it happens to be an animal that's right for your
needs/situation, then go for it. Every living creature deserves a chance
at a good life.

But, when a breeder purposely breeds a cross that is so dissimilar that
almost anything in the middle could result, then that's pretty irresponsible
to me.

When Lynn bred the Arab to the Peruvian, it sounded like she was careful to
pick a well-matched pair, both with good potential for the sport she was
breeding for. They sound well-matched...but just happen to be of different
breeds. Even though they are of different breeds, it sounds like she
approached the pairing responsibly. (If only all breeders of PUREBREDS
would show so much consideration in their selections...)
