Hi Susan, I would so agree with your reasons for clicker training your parrot (actually works on children as well). We have a double yellowed headed Amazon and in the summer she has a great life - perches outside, in trees, traveling on the ATV with my husband Phil. But in the winter her office, living room and bedroom perches do get boring. She does not live anytime in a cage but she really likes various stimuli. I haven't actually done any clicker training with her but may start - I will look up the suggested book even though I use it with horses and dogs.
