I feel like no sweat means anhydrosis. The other horse was very
sweaty. So this just tells us one horse was having a normal reaction,
the other was not. was there an event preceding this one where Nanna
was suddenly very overheated and exerted, like when she was introduced
to the herd maybe or playing maybe? because anhydrosis can be
*caused* by an event like this and then the NEXT time the horse is
exercised the anyhydrosis shows up and then each time it will get
worse if not treated. Oddly beer is good for anhydrosis, because of
the hops, and jeffers sells a supplement for it and with beer and the
supplement you can ride the horse on cool days at a mild rate. but
anhydrosis is a broken thermostat in the animal, and each time it
happens the thermostat gets more and more broken until you cant really
take any chances except maybe on a cold cold day or something.

But stonewalls anemia looked like anhydrosis to me until I actually
SAW a case. I have a video of that horse with anyhydrosis in extreme
stress on Judy's iceryder photo site. I will go look for the url and
post it.
Janice--
even good horses have bad days sometimes.
