Yes, I did read about this when I was researching
anhidrosis yesterday. I remembered something back
after I first got her. I got her on July 4 and in
August or September we got a super hot, humid spell
and Nanna was panting for a few days in her corral. I
didn't ride her or work her at all and hosed her off
2-3 times a day to try to cool her off. I even phoned
Judy to ask her if this was normal for Icelandics to
do that in this heat and she said her horses didn't do
it. Then the weather cooled off and winter came and I
forgot all about it. The first time my friend and I
went up the mountain about a month ago I noticed Nanna
was panting at the top and it took her a long time to
stop panting so I hand-walked her home. It was an
unseasonably hot day so I had chalked it up to the
heat, her winter coat and being out of shape for going
up hills. She sweated more that day.

Someone else told me about the beer. My vet called a
specialist of some sort yesterday and she recommended
a product called "One AC". I looked it up and there
were several testimonies on how it had dramatic
effects on their horses with anhidrosis. I ordered
some and will give it a try.

Thanks for the help. Kim
