Probably all have SOME pressure. The join-up way is one of the most pressure-filled variations of Natural Horsemanship though to me. I like the way Pat Parelli phrases it: use at least as much pressure as a newborn baby would apply, and no more pressure than another horse would use. In other words, he recommends the very lightest pressure that's needed to get the point across, but that "how much" is needed can vary TREMENDOUSLY depending on the horse. I agree with Janice that "round penning" is just too much pressure for some horses to have to cope with. I rarely use my round pen for "round penning." Karen Thomas, NC
