And when newcomers to the breed finally get their wits about them to ask questions like these, the typical tactic has been to attack the questioner, so that hopefully, the newbies will tuck their tails and not dare to ask any more questions. If the primary concern were with the horses' welfare, any and all questions would be welcomed, not scoffed at. There was a dictator in one country whose government was overthrown in the early 1970's. I remember reading that his motto regarding his subjects was, "Keep the dogs hungry and they will follow you." That worked for him...for a while, until "the dogs" turned on him and killed him. I think too often the attitude within this breed's leadership is "Keep the members embarrassed and confused so they will follow us." Thank goodness, the USIHC and the FEIF aren't dictatorships!
