I think that varies a lot from horse to horse in this breed. Trausti is one 
extreme, very low natural head set, with Skjoni's head being much 
higher...and you see them that way in the pasture.  Most of mine fall in the 
middle, although Brunka is more like Trausti, and Runa and Saga are more 
like Skjoni.     I think what's important is to notice what the horse offers 
naturally, based on how he's built, and don't try to change it dramatically. 
Afterall, Trausti and Skjoni both have lovely gaits - the head carriage is 
one detail and isn't what makes or breaks their natural gaitedness.
