I didn't mean it as an insult, and if it came across that way, I highly apologize. I am really impressed with Icinga. I guess the things I see missing are things like my hostgroup issue. The documentation defines hostgroups, but I never read where I needed to add the statements in cfg_dir to make the config file. For someone like me who is very new at this, that information is important. There are other things like that with Icinga-Web we have run across.
When I am done installing and setting up Icinga, I would be more than happy to help out with the documentation. Let me know how to go about it, such as specific formats and who to forward it to and I would love to contribute.
