For the record, even though this thread had the subject line "What's wrong
with skwan-utf8?", I would never propose the outright adoption of the
skwan-UTF8 ID as it stands.

But what's wrong with a proposal like the one proposed by Marc and Paul in:

http://www.ietf.org/internet-drafts/draft-ietf-idn-idne-01.txt
