I wish this were true.  Were it me speaking, I'd suggest that they start 
looking for ADSP records without acting on them, and draw their own conclusions.

Useless for which purpose?  From the rest of the message it sounds like you're 
primarily thinking about discussion-type mailing lists, which -- while a 
popular topic here recently -- are not the only kind of mail DKIM can be 
applied to.

 is a very good overview of the theory and applicability of message sender 
authentication, though some of the terms may be a couple years out of date.  
I'd suggest starting there.
