IMHO, cryptographic authentication of the SMTP host is needed instead to immediately curtail any subsequent traffic. In addition, DKIM does not confirm where the domain sent the message, which makes using DKIM to negatively impact a domain for unsolicited email something easily poisoned. Perhaps we should put together an I-D that uses a DKIM key with SMTP Auth instead to be ready for IPv6.
