those are journaling file systems. they cannot handle a disk going caput -
only RAID levels 5 or 1 does that. you have to have redundant data in
order to recover from data loss - no way around this.

and i think that - yes. raid5 is worse the price, since it'll turn the
mirror to be much more reliable. look - for more then a month now we have
practically no mirror, and it damages our reputation greatly as a reliable
resource. peple will just move elsewhere, and not necessarily move back
when we get back to our senses, since they won't know we got back to our
senses.

btw, i called ligad and we'll get a technician visit soon (maybe tommorow,
or so) to check the problem. if worse comes to worse - i'll simply umount
the raid, have all its data lost, and we'll have to remake all of it.

if anyone has files on the raid file system - PLEASE COPY THEM _TODAY_
to some location on the non-raid file system! if you don't - it'll all be
lost. the RAID should contain _ONLY_ real mirrors.
