soon maybe not so unofficial. if they want a proper legal body to deal
with (and get a reciept for their donation) it will soon be possible.

my guess is that Sun in particualr would prefer us to advertise their
new Sun Linux machines, and not just donate an external RAID. also, if
there is a way to see if we HAVE an UW connector on the current box, it
would be very helpful.

as long as we can upgrade the box to Debian �nd not to Sun Linux, I'll
be happy :)

are you saying they should only sponsor the purchase instead of
supplying their own RAID? umm...

I'll be happier asking IBM about a server+RAID combo. they have a
stronger Linux hype going than Sun's problematic relation with Linux,
and they have the hardware we need, I believe.
