You know, there is something I completely fail to understand, maybe you
can educate me.

Why do you insist on expensive SCSI and RAID hardware, when you can
(supposedly, I didn't really check) IDE disks for much cheaper?

If Ligad/Sun/Actcom/whoever are rushing to buy us things I wouldn't object,
but what if the tides have turned and companies aren't that willing to throw
away their money now?

I claim that the performance difference is inconsequential to us (if
performance mattered, we should have upgrade the machine too). The "virtual
volume" feature of RAID can be simulated in software - or better yet
keep the seperate partitions separate and get protection from Debian
mirrors filling all the space for Redhat mirrors, and so forth, like
seems to be happening now.
