aha.. and what happens to the existing disks? can we sell them? donate
them? do we return them? will they win us a discount on the new disks?
no, I thought not.

makes no sense to throw them out. at their age Ligad has nothing to do
with them. it's a waste to do anything with them other than use them.

they need a reason to give us money at random, advertising their
activities in the linux arena is a very possible request.

that's why I'm thinking this is so messy. I prefer to start with a fresh
machine which won't be made up of donations from separate entities.
furthermore, the Ligad Server has a very questionable status, seeing
that it was never recieved by a legal body or given a reciept for.

a fresh generic machine with two 120 gig IDE disks will be roughly $800,
less than the price of a single 80 gig UWSCSI disk, not to mention an
external RAID chasis before even a single disk is installed. therefore,
even changing the disks in the server makes no sense.

a new server also gives us another option - afterall Actcom is not the
only ISP in Israel and people often asked us about mirrors on other
sides of the IIX. we could ask at Barak, Bezeqint and other places.

yup.
