I finally got the server yesturday. It only has one 36GB disk. While this is not so bad, it is also not as much as I had hoped for. I'll try to talk to Moti Sadovsky from Sun on Sunday about another disk (there is one empty bay there).
The server specs, while far from mind blowingly exiting, are quite sufficient (this one problem nonwithstanding). I am currently in the process of installing the OS for it (Debian Woody - it came installed with "Sun Linux", which is, more or less, a RedHat 7.2 (?) vanilla. It was not even hardened as a server (and one would think that people who buy an LX50 from sun don't really need TuxRacer preinstalled on it). I'm hoping the server will be functioning by midweek next week.
I have also talked to Amir (actcom's CEO). They will host the new server as well (beak.hamakor.org.il) free of charge. They also have a whole bunch (about 100GB) of open source related mirrors themselves. We need to coordinate efforts to avoid duplicates.

hello,
My name is Gai Shaked (costello) from the "GNU/Linux Kinneret" Project (http://kinneret.miloberi.com). Kinneret will be hebrew Linux distro for the Israely student. Kinneret is based upon Knoppix as we intend to create a distro running from a CD so the students won't have installation problems etc.
Like a lot of other projects we're trying to get an account in SourceForge.net in order to use thier CVS and hosting services. However, our application for account havn't been approved yet (I't benn more than a month since we've first contact them) and we'd like to realese first, expirimental, version of Kinneret by the end of April. Since we don't have enogh space on our own server for the ISO file, and the guys from SourceForge seem not to like us we need your help - By April 25-27 we'll have a 650-700MB ISO file whick we'll have to store somewhere on the net, I'll be great if you could give us this space on one of your FTP servers.
Thanks, Gai Shked - costello ICQ - 38876564 E-mail - [EMAIL PROTECTED]
