Hardly a java expert, but I did write a chat server/client in java a long
time ago. Multithreaded, supports only one room. I'll gladly donate the
code (GPL ofcourse) to anyone who wants to extend it/base something on it.
And my java is rusty as hell, but can chip in on weekends if required.
