1. Do not change anything in the apache conf file with Linuxconf. It assumes
an apache config format that used to exist till 1.3.4: it no longer exists.
The apache configuration file is totally different for 1.3.12. The Linuxconf
module for Apache hasn't been updated for ages.
2. The error at startup is normal for RH 6.2 : it would have written in your
hosts file an entry such as
127.0.0.1 testpad localhost localhost.localdomain.
191.127.191.99 testpad
This will confuse apache no end as both Addresses answer to testpad. delete
the first reference.
use the default httpd.conf file and everything will fall in place. Do NOT
fiddle with it unless you are sure of what you are doing. it is not the
default conf file: RedHat has made extensive changes which are pretty
sensible for today's machines.
BTW WHY are you using a public IP block ? use the 192.168.x.x block if you
value your sanity.
