Dear Manasda, you said: >But it is up to people like us, who are enthusiastic about free >software, to remedy the situation, at least as far as free software is >concerned. I say this with all seriousness.
Yep sure. But I don't think that with my limited knowledge of linux will carry me far on the road to developing open source software. Thats probably because I have very little programming experience, and that too on visual basic :-) (please don't flame me) >Ach! Pardon me for directly contradicting the above statement but no >graphical frontend is required at least as far as developing software is >concerned. Well I'm very sorry to say that being a linux newbie brought up on a staple of windoze gui makes me a dumb user. I try to use the command line and am already getting around to appreciating the power of the bash shell. But still I have not been able to overcome micro$oft's fever. It does help, for me at least to have a gui in front of me. And as for Dhruv's suggestion of Kdevelop, I have to admit that I have no info on it. I haven't even seen a screenshot or any article ( reflects my limited knowledge) Soumyadip Modak St.Xavier's College,Kolkata [EMAIL PROTECTED] [EMAIL PROTECTED] -- To unsubscribe, send mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the body "unsubscribe ilug-cal" and an empty subject line.
