Sayamindu I gathered all the information from repots published in Aajkaal, Anandabazar,(both short reports) and Saptahik Bartaman (little longer) a few months back. When I contacted Sahitya Samsad Office they informed that it would be released in July-August. I am waiting for release. I completely agree with you that unicode is THE solution for the standardisation of bangla font layout. But there must be a Standardised Keyboard layout also (Sreelipi Bangla WB Gov. version has 16 layouts which left some more of Bangladesh!!!!!!). This should be done Bangla Academies of both sides and computer expert groups like ILUG_CAL. I Strongly believe that Asokbabu will do an excellent job. He play a key role in standardising this. Hope for the best. biplab ps. A SAD ONE: During my stay of one month in IIT-KHARAGPUR (i am leaving today !!) I found that in LARGE no of computers (supplied by PCS) the keyboard has URDU (or may be arabic, I don't understand) letters printed. NOne is in bangla! Standardisation is NECESSARY.
